About Me

Ske:noh, My name is Taina Lickers-Smith but by family and friends call me Ty. I am of the Seneca Nation, Wolf Clan and live on the Six Nations of the Grand River.

I am a self-taught baker who spent most of my childhood in the kitchen with my grandmother and mother who both contributed to my skill set in one form or another. 

​

I am a wife and a mom of 5 amazing adult children, 1 daughter of my own and 4 step-children. My family is everything to me and I am blessed. 

​

Tasty Treats By Ty is a small home-based business that started by accident. When I had to take a sick leave from my 9-5 job, I found myself exploring all the things that brought me joy again...reading, writing and baking. I was finding myself in the kitchen creating something every day. I was sharing my creations on my social media and eventually I began to get requests for orders from family and friends. As I was home anyway and needed the extra income, I took it on and everything was coming back as a huge success.

My daughter actually seen the potential before I did. She encouraged me to begin promoting my creations and even went as far as having my logo designed for me by the amazing Mandy Birch, a freelance graphic designer based out of London Ontario.

From there things just continued to grow and I found myself taking orders from the community and was baking and creating Tasty Treats for everyone. 

 

My gramps use to always tell us “everything happens for a reason”. Tasty Treats By Ty was my reason.
